Injuryupdate.com.au is a website dedicated to providing the most up to date summary of the major injuries in professional sport (particularly the football codes) in Australia, including information regarding the injuries reported.  

This website does not intend to break 'scoops' of injury stories, but merely summarises injury information that is already publicly available and then provides a resource for linking to related information on the World-wide Web. Much of the content in this website is also available elsewhere, but not in such as convenient format for Australian sports fans.

Users who may be interested in the contents of injuryupdate.com.au include sports fans, punters, sports medicine professionals (sports physicians, physiotherapists, podiatrists, surgeons etc.), journalists, and those involved in football tipping competitions.

Injuryupdate.com.au was created in January 2003 and for its initial existence will publish its entire contents free of charge. Most material will remain free of charge, although in the future a subscription-based 'premium content' section may be developed.

Medical content is generally written by Dr. John Orchard ( http://www.johnorchard.com ), sports physician and sports injury researcher (pictured above).

Information about the injuries of particular athletes is taken from other publicly available sources, such as newspapers, magazines, TV shows and websites. Direct quotes are attributed to their source. Danny Redrup (pictured right), a physiotherapist working at Narellan Physiotherapy, is responsible for updating injury details for all teams. He is also responsible for the clinics database which is constantly being updated. Wayne Hoskins (pictured below), completing his PhD on hamstring strains and studying medicine, updates AFL injuries and contributes to front page articles.  

Technical management and design is performed by 4Mation Technologies                           (http://www.4mation.com.au/ ) and the website is housed at Alpha.net.
