The
adductor longus tendon is the thick tendon that can be felt in the lower,
inner region of the groin. It attaches to the pubic
bone next to the pubic
symphysis.
Adductor tendinopathy (or tendinitis) behaves in some ways like other related tendon injuries, such as Achilles tendinitis. However, its bony attachment to the pelvis is unique, and there is a consequential overlap with the condition of osteitis pubis.
It is often difficult to differentiate between adductor tendinopathy and osteitis pubis, as these two conditions can co-exist.
