During my aerial gymnastics training I suddenly felt a cracking in my lower left ribs, where the tenth rib attaches to the sternum. Seems like some sort of stress fracture, but isn't visible on x-rays. It's been about 5 days now.
Most of the time it doesn't hurt at all, but every few hours I feel the same cracking sensation and it seems to pop out of place. Feels like something poking into my abdomen. If I go and lie down for a few minutes there's another popping feeling and the pain goes away.
I can pop it out of place by trying to do a sit-up.
Doctors here in Beijing haven't been much help. I'd appreciate any ideas on:
(1) What has been injured -- bone, tendon, muscle or cartilage
(2) How to better diagnose the problem -- MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, bone scan
(3) Treatment plan
(4) Time I will be unable to train full-time
Help!
