I am 6 months post ACL reco and 4 months post scope (lateral release, MUA, TOTAL clean out, patella scrape etc).Okay, I still require 3 degrees more extension. This lack of extension is the reason behind my limp and weak quad, non-existent VMO muscle and inhibiting my recovery.
Flexion is at 130 on my own and 140 forced. Physio is content with that, I'm not, but least of my worries at this stage.
Can I get that extra 3 degrees with physio and on my own, basically - can I avoid further surgery or is there a blockage, i.e. scar tissue which needs surgical removal? How do I know without going under the knife...an MRI?
Comments from those who have been there greatly appreciated. Do I have a time limit/window of opportunity? What would you do in my case? How long do I give it? I'm not happy but my hesitation with surgery is who is to say I won't end up here again in another 4 months? Do I just keep persevering, if so, for how long?
My physio is just content to keep going and keep working, but it's 4 months now since my scope and I'm still struggling. I just need another opinion other than my physio's to assure me I'm on the right track, or maybe not. Hence my post on this board.
FRUSTRATED!!
