Hi,
I have posted mostly on the hip forum to date as I have FAI in both hips. I had an Open Hip Dislocation surgery in May. The pain in my hip has resolved but I have continuing severe nerve pain. I have just been told that my L1-L3 discs have degenerated. I am not sure what can be done or where to go but I am pretty fed up with the pain and disability this causes.
As the protocols are different according to where you live, is there anyone in the UK who has been diagnosed with disc degeneration and if so what happened? What can the dear old NHS offer? I think I am way beyond physio - have had that on and off for around 20 plus years although I am seeing one about pain management. I know you can go to a Pain Clinic but if there is a way of eliminating the pain without drugs I would like to know. Trying to mask these symptoms for the next 40 years doesn't really appeal and I want to get back to being active again. Has anyone achieved this?
