Hi
ive been having back pain for about 6 months now and i have gone to see physio chiropractor and still i havent gotten any better.
I decided to go see my local gp again and told him to xray my back and give me a referal to a specialist because i cant take the pain no more.

Anyways the dr just called me and said i have scoliosis. Now he really didnt ellaborate on it but when i went to see him he refered me to a Rheumatologist(sorry if spelling is wrong).

Would anyone know if this is the right specialist i should be seeing.I have made an appointment but its on dec 13th which is like 2.5 months away. Is that too long to wait for this sort of injury.

Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks

There is a new type of operation to correct scoliosis. I don't know of any surgeons unfortunatly.

Anyways the dr just called me and said i have scoliosis.
Ask him why? What is the cause? Where it comes from? Scoliosis is only a symptom.
I had scoliosis. It can be corrected without surgery if done soon enough. I had it since child and it was corrected as I was 35 years old. I also had lordosis,.. now corrected.

Hi there!
My name is Annalise, and I have just logged onto this website and found your story. I am 23 years old now - I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 14, & told that surgery was my only option due to the fact that it had progressed so far. I had surgery at the age of 15 to correct it. I could go on for hours to tell you my whole story, but it's late at night and I'm nearly ready for bed!!
What I will tell you though, is that I am now the QLD State Secretary for the Scoliosis Assosiation of Australia. I would love to hear from you to find out if you are indeed still having problems. I read one of the other replies you had about your question, about scoliosis being "a symptom". I can assure you that this is untrue. Scoliosis is a disorder that needs proper treatment, one way or the other. If left to progress too far, it can have drastic results. Please email or call me asap (on the details below) so I can help you in any way possible. I will also give you the website address for the scoliosis association... i suggest you check it out. Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers!!
Annalise.
