First of all what a very interesting forum to read, i'm very happy that
i have found this at last...
Let me tell you my short story about my ankle which will probably be
interesting for people to read on improving my ankle.
When i was 16, i fractured my ankle while playing soccer, it was in a cast for a while but all was fine afterwards. When i was 18 i fractured my big toe cycling
Now(28), November last year i was playing soccer and sprained my ankle, and i could not walk it was really painful. After seeing loads of doctors and different physio's this is what they wrote about my ankle -
Isotop Imaging:
The dynamic study of the ankles show mild to moderate increase in blood flow to the right ankle region with increased pooling particularly medially. This lies both anterior and to a lesser extent, posterior to the talus on the medial blood pool image. Delayed views demonstrate lot to moderate grade increase in uptake in the adjacent joint surfaces medially involving the medial malleolus and medial wall of the talus. On the medial view this is rather anteriorly placed and low to moderate grade reaction is confirmed in the posterior aspect of the talus also. Only low grade prominence is present in the right sesamoid bone on the medial view. On a plantar view changes in the right forefoot are predominantly in the medial sesamoid and medial aspect of the interphalangeal joing of the great toe.
Sports Physician:
He wrote a letter to the surgeon. Greg has a significantly stiff ankle and since his recent ankle sprain no longer copes with this range of movement. Would you please consider him for arthroscopic debridement of this spurs and possibly removal of os trigonum(don't know what that is).
I didn't end up going to the surgeon i decided to take it in my own hands.
I got custom orthotics made up for my feet, but i found them extremely painful and decided to ditch them and i bought a pair of runners.
I went to Japanese Acupuncture, which was really good, cause he cracked my ankle and immediately i felt it was better on my medial sesamoid. But i still can't seem to wear any other shoes besides runners and even too work i need to wear runners.
As for sport, i can't run, tried boxing but it hurt my ankle. Did yoga, it
helped and now i'm doing cycling classes at a gym which is helping even more, but my ankle still throbs not when i do exerise so much anymore but when i keep still like sitting at a desk, sleeping, watching tv, its not painful.
All i want to do is wear proper work shoes to work and i'm running out of
ideas on what to do for my ankle.
Any suggestions, opnions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Greg
