Pitcher banned for steroids use

TEXAS Rangers pitcher Carlos Almanzar has been suspended for the first 10 days of next season for violating baseball's steroids policy.
The reliever, who is the 10th player to pick up a 10-day ban this year, was on bereavement leave at the start of the season and then had ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow in May to end his campaign early.
