Have just come across an interesting site which purports to have up to date stats on participation levels in physical activity and sports injury data in the USA.
Interesting preamble suggesting that accurate figures for sports injuries do not exist but then offering the oppurtunity to purchase their figures:
http://www.americansportsdata.com/sports_injury1.asp
The price sounds a bit steep (US$500) for a report that may or may not be accurate. Also sounds like it isn't peer-reviewed - nothing comes up in a Pub Med search. However, it is recommended (with a slight discount) by the American College of Sports Medicine.
http://www.acsm.org/publications/Special%20Publication.htm
A COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF SPORTS INJURIES IN THE U.S. $495
Has anyone bought or seen this data and is it worthwhile?
