Hi,

I am a Martial Artist and I suffered an injury from kicking.

I kicked my opponent with a left roundhouse kick using my back leg.
It is known as a Thai kick or power roundhouse.

Unfortunatly my kick was very poor. It did not fly perpindicalar to his body but came up on an angle.

My opponent blocked the kick with his elbow. His elbow came right on the joint between the foot and the shaft towards the outside of the foot. Keep in mind I was using full force.

It hurt alot. And puffed up almost right away. That day I could not hyperextend my foot like a ballet dancer-it would hurt.

Now its 3 days since, the swelling has almost gone away- I can hyperextend my foot like a ballet dancer but the pain is there.

Also when I hyperbend my foot towards the front (the opposite of the ballet extention) it also hurts a bit.

Its a nagging pain. At night its like a low electric voltage that comes on and goes off.

Anybody had similar experience? What can be the problem? Cartilage or ligament?

Any feedback or help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerly.
Kicker.
(I hope you understood what I meant with my non medical terminology ;)
