hey ppl i sprained my ankle in a netball match 4 weeks ago and had to be carried to the hospital. although i was diagnosed with a sprain they didnt tell me what grade it was. i was on crutches for about a week an now i can walk fine unless the ground is uneven but im a bit worried as my ankle is still swollen and even though i ve been doin some mbility exercises i still dont have my full range of movement back.
i ve been to the doctors but all they did was give me some anti inflammatries which aren't working.
Anyone got any ideas whats wrong or what i should do?

Sounds similar to my grade 2 ankle sprain a couple of years back.
My advice - go see a physio. They'll help massage the swelling out, probably do some ultrasound therapy on it and give you some decent exercises to return the balance and strength to the joint.

i had a similar problem. I went over on my ankle about 7 weeks ago playing basketball, i was told it was just a spraine but im still having alot of pain. Ive been told theres a possibility its a stress fracture, has anyone else had one?
Thanks

I badly rolled my ankle last year two weeks into the netball seasion. I was told it was a grade 2 and I was on crutches for two weeks. I went to physio when my injury was three weeks on advice from my doctor as the swelling was just as bad. I was under physio for 4 months as they found other problems within my ankle that would have made my recovery longer if I had have not gone to physio. This seasion I am wearing ankle braces to stop me re rolling that ankle. I agree go to physio
