Hi all,
I'm hoping I can get some help here. I'm a L2 Sports Trainer, and also an exercise physiologist, and I currently work in Aussie Rules in Sydney. There is a degree of contention in a local government area that has come to affect my club directly, following a move by one particular councillor at the council in question to have the senior football club, as well as its junior subsidiary removed from the best field available in the district as football apparently damages the cricket surface too heavily. The motion has forced both affected clubs to relocate to a ground of lesser quality, that struggled to support to load of a single, smaller football team (my club as it turns out), and it has been put forward that this ground, and the other that will be forced to help pick up the traffic, will both lose what little integrity they have very quickly with additional traffic, which will presumably lead to increased injury rates and severity, and would also place the council at some degree of responsibility.
Does anyone have some advice on ways we can go about fighting this, or at the very least, fighting to have the other ground upgraded and regularly maintained? Any links to articles or relevant sources of information would be greatly appreciated.
