Pollock has been given the all clear, but don't be surprised if he breaks down in this series against Australia. He is being trouble by some knee cartilage damage.

Shaun Pollock has been given the all clear by doctors to continue playing in the ODI series against Australia. Pollock had felt discomfort in his right knee after injuring it during a net session last week and there was some doubt as to whether he would be able to contribute with both bat and ball through the series.
He played as a batsman only in South Africa's Pro20 international win against Australia last week but was the pick of the bowlers in their opening match win of the ODI series on Sunday. He ended with figures of three for 23, instigating a top-order collapse with Makhaya Ntini from which Australia never fully recovered.
Pollock consulted a leading knee specialist and said he had experienced considerably less discomfort during Sunday's game. The knee specialist confirmed that the suspected cartilage injury was not as serious as originally thought. Shane Jabaar, the team physiotherapist, said Pollock would not do any hard impact training this week, but would train with the squad on Wednesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, Charl Langeveldt underwent surgery to repair the break to the index finger of his left hand on Tuesday morning. He suffered the break during a fielding session last week and it is likely that he will be out of action for between four and six weeks.
