I have had an ongoing minor calf injury for over 2 years or so now and it has now got to the stage where it is restricting me to continue to play some sports.
I am heavily involved in both futsal and soccer. For some strange reason I never really have an issue with the injury when playing Futsal, however after playing or training for outdoor soccer I will be forced to stop due to this injury on most occassions.
Generally speaking I have no pain for approximately 20 minutes of solid running / stretching / ball work etc.
It then starts to give and feels like a small bleed in one of the calf muscles. Most times I know what it is and attempt to work through the pain, however recently it has been impossible. Generally the pain will subside over the next day or 2.
People have indicated it may just need time to heal, but within this period I have had a grade 2 knee medial ligament which put me out for 8 weeks.
Does this sound like a typical calf injury or should I seek further assistance and from whom??
