I have worked in child care for 10 years and recentley had a fall landing on lower back and buttocks. I have had a ct scan which told me that i have a wide spread bulge of my lowest disc. I have been attending physio and hydro more or less every day since i did it. They say that my pelvis is all out of wack it is positive on one side (the right) i have been suffering from tightness in my lower back and buttocks and when i move in certain directions it grabs in my back. It some times only takes me to move my big toe and it grabs, I went to see a nuerosurgeon who wasnt much help told me to come back in 4 wks and that was about it. physio is currently working on my piraformis and hips but i dont know whether is gelps or not coz i am in so much pain after he has finished i cant tell. Can any one help me

yeah i can help!

get your pelvis corrected by pelvis muscle energy techniques. a chiro, osteo or some physios do the technique.

the physio you are seeing is right in the diagnosis, but using the wrong tool to treat. immagine a carpenter trying to put a screw into a wall with a saw. knows what the y want to do, but wrong tool for the job!

if your lucky the person will also be trained in "core retraining" or know some sort of pilates exercises they can show you once the pain resolves, so as to prevent recurrances.

hope this helps.

ps: my personal belief is that you should also look for someone who is trained in visceral (organ) manipulation. this will be very helpful, but only a few people ion austraila have the training.

Have you tried seeing an oesteopath, i did my back several years ago playing football where my back got crunched leaving 4 of my discs not working properly. I saw a number of physios but they gave me wrong exercises to do which resulted in my back becoming worse, it was like a knife being stabbed into my back. Once i started seeing a oesteopath for my back it became much better, the woman i see knows what part of every muscle is tight and needs work, she has made a hue difference as i thought i would have to give up playing football
