Umaga out for month

FORMER All Black skipper Tana Umaga is expected to be sidelined for at least the rest of this month after injuring a knee in the Wellington Hurricanes' Super 14 loss to the Central Cheetahs yesterday (AEDT).
Umaga is returning home from South Africa after tearing a medial ligament early in the New Zealand side's 27-25 loss in Bloemfontein, Hurricanes coach Colin Cooper is reported saying in the Wellington Dominion Post newspaper today.
Cooper said the team is aiming at the April 1 match against the Canterbury Crusaders for the return of Umaga, who announced his retirement from the All Blacks earlier this year.
"It's a huge loss, both on and off the field," said Cooper. Umaga injured the same knee in 2003, forcing him out of the 2003 World Cup.
