After a bad ankle sprain last year I returned to play netball this seasion, but I have a sightproblem, For some reason I have losted the ability to jump high. I had a practice game last week and high balls that I would pull in I missed five of them in total. Does anyone have any idea of how I can increase my jumping height again.

Hard to give advice without knowing the injury, but the basics are stability exercises, balance work, flexibility/range of motion work, leg strengthening etc.
Majority of jumping strength comes from your quads but needless to say if your ankle is still not healed (e.g. unstable) everything else may be weaker as a secondary problem.
This sort of problem is probably best assessed by a physio in the clinic.

Thnaks for that. I did a grade 2 sprain. But it is fine now. no problems with movement or flexiblity within the ankle itself. It is just the jumping. I have no height and i want to back.

I used to have weights that i would strap to my ankles
Anklets that were filled with sand
I would do the afternoon Milkrun with these on
and by the time i took them off i would instantly see/feel the difference.

See an ankle physio. They should be able to tell you.

It was the flexibility within my ankle.

Netballer:
Talk to your physio about gradual plyometrics. See article below. You have to scroll down it once you enter the site past the blank area to get to the article. It's obviously for the perfectly healthy, but low impact trampoline, skipping etc might be something you can start with.

That is basically what I have been doing. I was having problems with the flex in my ankle when I jumped I wasn't able to get alot of power of the ankle and am still having that problem. We have worked on the board, which hurt alot and we found out that there was alot of inflammation within the ankle joint as well, which didn't help things. My jumping height is slowly improving, I am also doing a lot jumping at home basically getting people to shoot and me defend.
