Do you reckon that the Broncos are as badly injured as they make out at the moment, or is Wayne Bennett up to tricks? Specifically, rest all of the half injured Broncos now, so they all miss State of Origin I, and then this year the team will be much fresher come semi-final time? It doesn't really kill Queensland's chances of winning the series, just game 1, which they probably didn't think they could win anyway. Game 2 is at home, and game 3 they could pinch with the momentum on their side.
I know it is a big call, but the one which is a big pointer is Lockyer. They are saying he injured his rib against New Zealand, and that now it is re-injured he will need to miss six weeks. The same injury was no bad enough to stop him backing up 2 DAYS(!) after the Test match, and now it is going to be a 6 week injury! Former Queensland captains might be turning in their graves at the though that the current one wouldn't have a fractured rib needled up after 4 weeks off to play an Origin match! Remember the year that Lam captained and they made him (or let him) play 3 weeks after a dislocated shoulder. Now a rib injury (which are nowhere near as bad) is putting Lockyer out for 6. Highly suspicious.
It does seem a little bit dodgy. And with the injury of Webcke too. Thats 3 of their better players injured in one week. With Berrigan, Webcke and Lockyer.

Bennett threatens to withdraw stars from matches
In the week after Australian and New Zealand rugby league stars were forced by the draw to attempt to back up for their clubs within 24-48 hours, Brisbane and Australian coach Wayne Bennett has said that his club may consider standing down players from Broncos matches after Origin games. Read more at SMH. Read Stuart Honeysett's view in the Australian. The representative commitments have reached a stage where Roosters, NSW and Australian player Craig Wing apparently played 43 matches last season. The Roosters suffered a blow related to the representative schedule in which front rower Jason Cayless re-injured a medial ligament in the match against St George, backing up from a Test match 48 hours earlier. The Test match had been his return match after 4 weeks off with the original injury. It is theoretically possible (but hard to prove) that the fatigue of playing two matches in 48 hours contributed to the injury recurrence. Newcastle suffered the heartache of watching a key player go down in the Test match with Timana Tahu suffering a recurrence of a recent hamstring strain.

Mine too, any updates? Have you got Ryles in VNRL as well?
No updates. I dont know why he is named this week if he was meant to be doing a fitness test to play in the match 2 weeks ago. And i actually have Ryles in one of my comps, but i dont really care about that one. The one im in with my mates is the one i really want to do well in.
