Dislocated finger

Yesterday at my swimming meet, I smacked the wall really hard and I dislocated my little finger, we iced it at the meet and once it was finished we went to the hospital to get it put back into place. Can anyone tell me how long it is going to be sore and how long I will be splinted and if there is any chance that I could re hurt it when I start to play netball

If it is only dislocated then only for a few days but if it is sprained or fractured then a few weeks. I broke my finger a few months ago.

It was only dislocated, but I rehurt it playing netball. The ball hit the tip of my finger and popped it out again, but this time I tore a ligament as well, so I did nice damage it has been 6 months since the second injury and I now have to learn to catch a ball without that finger splinted and that is the worst.
