hi i was wondering what the best way is to prevent tendon injuries and if ecentric weight training will help increase flexibility of the tendon?
Also does heavy weight training with less reps increase injury percentantages as opposed to doing lighter weights with more reps?
thanks i know this is alot to answer but any help would be greatly appreciated as i have a history of tendon ruptures

Heavy Vs light training does make much difference in terms of risk of injuries.
You are more likely to get injured doing a light weight high reps workout with sloppy form ,training till failure and not warming up.
To prevent injury
1)use proper form
2)warmup
3)dont train till failure
4) good nutrition
Also if you are beginer you should be using a light weigt to learn proper form.

tendinopathies are defined by being brought on by overuse....so along with, or perhaps even more important than, anything, give your body plenty of rest!

Another way to avoid tendon injuries can be to make sure you undertake some sort of off-season or pre-season conditioning program before beginning an activity/sport. Especially if you have had a tendon injury in the past.
