i play rugby league and i have shin splints im just wondering if anyone knew any ways of speeding up the recovery or have a rough idea of how long i will be unable to play. thanks heaps for any information.

I sometimes get the same on hard ground playing union.

I was advised as follows and seems to kinda work..
Take HOT bath, loaded with sea salt. 5 mins with legs in. remove from water and ice shins immediately. Repeat the process 5 times and finish with luke warm water to bring back to body temp.

It's no miracle but surely helps! Hope it does for U..
