Bottom line is that we have a government NOT committed to doing anything about the problem - Abbott and Howard say it's up to the individual not government problem and Beasley doesn't suggest anything otherwise.
Within the medical profession, new specialties like sports medicine, which are placed to help combat the obesity epidemic, have been LOCKED OUT of having a sphere of influence within medicine, by being shunned by the rest of the profession.
