Injured five-eighth Stephen Larkham has declared himself an almost certain starter for the Wallabies' Test against England next month.

The Wallabies' 42-man train-on squad wrapped up its three-day camp in Sydney with a final training session on Thursday morning, where Larkham said he was close to fully recovered from a hamstring injury that cut short his Super 14 season.

Larkham said he probably would have been ready to play in the Super 14 semi-finals last week had the Brumbies qualified and that he should be fine to tackle the English in Sydney on June 11.

Coach John Connolly and fellow national selectors will trim the preliminary squad to 33 on Monday before heading to camp at Coffs Harbour.

Meanwhile, Queensland prop Rodney Blake is expected to announce he will stay with the Reds next season rather than accept a lucrative offer to play in France.

Blake said the lure of a Wallabies jumper had him leaning towards remaining in Australia.

A sydney newspaper stated today that Matt Rogers and Sam Norton Night were in a battle for the wallaby no10 jersey after Larkham said he wasnt going to make a premature return and delay his rehab by up to 3 months. He will probably miss the first england test but be fit for the 2nd.
