I am having therapy to treat shoulder impingement, on the advice of my orthopaedist. I have learned quite a bit, but probably just enough to be dangerous.
It has become apparent to me that I suffered a shoulder separation many years ago, and that it was probably grade three ( I have a very noticeable bump at the a/c-clavicle area). It was never treated. I am now having a variety of pains in this shoulder, as well as some sporadic and varying degrees of numbness.
It will be a month or so before my follow-up with the orthopaedist. In the meantime, my therapy continues. My questions are: 1) is this old injury likely to be contributing to my current problem, and 2) if it is, am I wasting my time in therapy/can this injury be treated surgically after all this time?
Thanks in advance for any help.
