I have had lumbar spondylosis for quite some years now as a result of a motor vehicle accident which compressed my lower spine leaving me with acute tenderness at and around the L4. A couple of years ago whilst standing neck deep in a swimming pool, I felt an enormous pinch as I lifted my legs towards my chest. This time my right leg was affected, severe pain through the fermor area and numbness/paralysis on top of my thigh. Shortly after I was to undergo surgery for a ruptured disc (L2/3). I had a laminectomy done which seemed to fix the injury but a year later I had to have a microdiscectomy done on the same injury which seems to have sorted it out. My question is: Is it at all possible, that the lumbar spondylosis and the ruptured/prolapsed disc are related? The motor vehicle accident occured in 1990 and the ruptured disc occured in 2004.
Any help would be greatly appreciated:confused:
