Can someone please tell me if lumbar spondylosis can be a predisposing factor to an L4/5 disc prolapse?

Spondylosis is the technical term for degenerative changes. It is unlikely that the degenerative changes in your lumbar spine have predisposed you to an L4/5 disc prolapse. Factors such as prolonged flexion postures/loading ie sitting, bending forwards, poor lifting technique, sedentry lifestyle (lack of exercise!) and tobacco smoking are more likely to predispose.
