Hi, I have just been diagnosed with a blood cloth in my lower left calf – (initially started cause I was running and pulled the muscle and vein, causing it to bleed. Initially I went to hospital and they found an 18cm blood clot, I was given aspirins and sent home.

A week later I went back for a checkup and the clot had reduced to 2cm, however they diagnosed it as a DVT (deep vein thrombosis) I have been prescribed Warafarin to thin my blood. I have also been advised to avoid contact sport and activities which may cause bleeding and which will take longer to stop. Refer to the terms AVOID and cause bleeding and longer to stop the said bleeding. Refer to the terms AVOID and MAY CAUSE BLEEDING.

NOW - I am in the army (special forces) and about to start 6 months of intense training. Although I have been advised not to undertake the training - I WILL BE DOING IT ANYWAY - with or without taking the drug!!! now you can see my dilemma......I have gone through more pain, sacrifice and on occasions risks to my life to get where I am so will not stop not - the risk is worth it!!!!!

Is there any other medication I can take to treat this problem or can I do certain things to minimize possible injury???

Thank you in advance for your reply.
