Hi there,

I am 25 years old. Several years ago i had a fingure injury while catching a ball. Before i could open my ring fingures the ball came and hit my
Distal interphalangial joint(DIP). I developed immediate pain and swelling, but i ignored the problem. After a few days the pain subsided but there was still some swelling visible. I then went for an x-ray, but the x-ray revealed no internal injury. Everything was okay except the swelling when one day i realised that whenever i try to bend my injured fingure near the DIP position inwards, there is a cracking noise inside my fingure near the DIP. This has been continuing for many years now and its very irritating. I have searched on the net for any treatment, but could not get much information. It would be great if anyone knows anything about this kind of injury.

Thanking you,

Prashant.

Hi Rambo999:
I think that you should get some more X-rays. You said that when you got X-rays for when you first injured it and the X-rays showed no damage and now it is starting to hurt again. Well, I think you should get more X-Rays. I think you should not put up with it any longer.
By the way, I also have a similar problem with my hand. I am experiencing some pain in the space left of my left thumb. It is the same hand with the finger I fractured a few months ago. Does anyone know anything about that or had that injury? That'd be a good help:)!
