My husband has MRI-proven left hip labral tear with a paralabral cyst. He has hip pain, left buttock pain, groin spasms going into and down his legs. We saw a hip specialist 2 days ago and were told that his symptoms are not reflective of his labral tear, but from the findings on his lumbar spine MRI and now the hip doctor is sending my husband to a spine doctor. He has had his symptoms for about 6 years, now getting much worse. He has seen a neurosurgeon, a neurologist, has been through physical therapy, and still has the pain, still increasing.
From what I am reading here, the labral tear sounds like the problem to me. I am getting so frustrated trying to get some help. I called Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Maryland, to see about a second opinion, but have not heard back and am not sure this is the way to go.
We would travel to wherever the best doctors are for help.
Thank you in advance.
