My husband has a left hip labral tear and a paralabral cyst He also has some lumbar spine issues.

He has been asked by two different doctors if he had any relief of his pain from the MRI arthrogram. He did not and therefore is being told that the labral tear and/or cyst are not causing his symptoms of spasms through his groin, down his legs, to his calves.

With labral tears being so mis-diagnosed, I am wondering if we are being told the correct information.

Any input would be much appreciated.

Thank you . bw

hmmmm...arthrograms are only diagnostic tools not used for any type of relief, not sure what it is they were asking? I have been told though that arthrograms just like any diagnostic test is not always 100% accurate.

I had 2 of them done (one for each hip) 5 months ago and they were showing the possiblity of labral tears. My surgeon states to me that what I am describing shows labral tears along with the test results but no one can know for sure until he actually scopes the hips and takes a look. My first scope is scheduled in 6 weeks.

Best of Luck
