Hi guys,

I hava a spur on he tip of my elbow which hurts when i lean on it or do heavy weights
I heard about the Extracorporeal Shock Wave therapy and was considering it insted of surgery.

Has anyone used this therapy for their spurs? What were your results like? Im just sick of wasting my time on therapies which never work and empty my wallet haha. .
Ok thanks
SamG

I would try most things ahead of surgery as recovery from surgery is usually 4-5 months. ESWT seems to work best when there is calcific change in the tendon, but I am biased as I give people treatment. The sports med literature supports use when there is calcific change though, esp shoulder and Achilles (other tendons are less common and haven't been studied as much).
