Seriously this time - NSAIDS, cryotherapy, rest (especially on knees or running etc), muscle pump drainage technique.
Wait for x-rays and hope no structural damage.

However, x-rays unlikely to show cartilage damage. Check for any clicking, lcoking of the joint, swelling (outside of bursal area) or giving away. PAlpate for joint line tenderness. For a simple test squat like a duck and walk around. If no pain/clicking - good likelihood of no cartilage damage.
Consult sports practitioner to begin passive treatment and a rehabiliation program.

Hi, if it was prepatellar bursa, hopefully it has gone down by now, and the cartilage damage was not found.
Don't even know when the open day is on, so wasn't planning to come. Will be in the Sydney Uni clinic on Tuesday and Thursday mornings generally and if you come down on either of those mornings I would be happy to say hello.

Thanks for your reply.
Knee's muchly back to normal. Off crutches, x-ray clear, no known cartilage damage, and minimal pain. Hopefully back on park for final Friday 1st Sept (in Sydney, if anyone wants to come and watch...it'll be a great game!) I'm sorry that I didnt reply earlier, but I guess now you know I wasnt in Syd today. The Open Day is on this Saturday 28th August, but now I can't go.
See ya later, Mon

Thanks Dr. J. I had a light training yesterday and it was pretty sore afterwards, but its improved out of sight and I've been told that I can get away with just strapping it. (For anyone in the area, we play at HADJUK stadium in St. John's Park at 11:30am Friday 3rd Sept)
Thanks again for everyone's advice and support,
Mon
