I have also postd a simialr thread under the cricket injuries forum, but the subject applies to this forum also - sorry! I had an operation to remove the Os Triginum exactly 3 years ago - this was thought to have been caused over the years through fast bowling. All has been fine since the recovery period from the operation, but in the past few weeks the area has once again flared up and is causing a great deal of pain. Could the bone growth return in such a short time period? And what would be the recommendations, taking into account the fact that i play cricket all year round?

Yes, the bone can re-form after a period of time, although it shouldn't be as big as the original. You can easily see whether it has grown back by having an X-ray. If it hasn't or if there is a tiny bit of re-growth then a cortisone injection may be enough to fix the problem rather than more surgery. However, sometimes a second operation is needed (Brett Lee needed to have this done a second time earlier this year).
