Who should win a gold medal for drama queen of the Olympics? Obviously if you suffer an injury or a medical condition (like needing to stop rowing before the finish) then you are entitled to be stressed out, but maybe some of our Aussie girls have gone over the top.

Some people have had no reason to stress (other than not winning gold) - maybe Liesl Jones needs to win the silver medal for creating a drama out of nothing.

Jana calms down and runs well, given her knee injury
As predicted on this site two weeks ago, reigning 400m hurdles World Champion Jana Pittman was able to make the Olympic final after tearing her lateral meniscus in the knee, but couldn't run a personal best or win the Gold medal. It was still a great effort to run as well as she did 2 weeks after a knee arthroscopy. There was some concern that Jana was turning the injury into too much of a soap opera, which SMH journalist Roy Masters had suggested. However, the seriousness of the injury, although exaggerated, was genuine and definitely not orchestrated. Jana ran well and showed a lack of hysterics in the post-event interview, for which she should be given credit. In the drama queen stakes, it appeared she was overtaken by the Womens 8 rowing crew, who couldn't decide whether Sally Robbins needed to be publicly hung for suffering a collapse during the final, or was their best friend, or both.
