sounds like ligament damage...might take 6 months to fully heal

The sharp pain comes from either turning my wrist up and down to the right and putting any weight on my wrist, i have hardly any strength in it as i get the sharp pain when i try to lift things, should i see a physio for treatmet or someone else

 if i were you id go to a physio and let them diagnose it, they may even ask you to get some type of imaging done. Then they can work on a plan to get you back on top :)

Steely,
First off, you need to understand injuries to the wrist are some of the most difficulties to treat. As you might know there are 8 small bones in the wrist alone and dozens of ligaments that keep them together.
Back in 98 I fracture my left wrist. At the time it seemed very benign with no concerns. I was followed by an orthopedic surgeon to make sure the healing was progressing correctly, which it did. I suffered from wrist pain for months, years. After seeing my family physician on multiple occasions and getting no where, I finally went to a different doctor who sent me to a plastic surgeon.

I had triquetrum instability. In simple terms the ligaments in charge of holding the 3 carpal bones around the ulnar head were torn which in turn caused an instable wrist similar to what you are describing. This was likely caused by the fall I suffered, which at the time caused the fracture.

Between 2000 and 2005 I received 4 orthopedic surgeries to my wrist alone to fix the cause of the pain. I was sent to 3 seperate surgeons as each procedure could only be done by those different docs. I am have a pain free wrist (minus some aching during weather change).

Your best bet will to go see your family physician. He will send you for test accordingly. You could be sent to a sport medicine pysician or a surgeon depending on what is found or not found upon your visit with your physician.

Good Luck and don't give up. I suffered for 5 years before I finally went ahead and seeked help.

Hiya,
It's very hard to tell what hand/wrist problems you could be suffering from as there are many hand/wrist problems/disabilities.

Such as: Mid Carpal Instability (MCI)/Palmar Midcarpal Instability (PMCI) Which is part of The Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) Family, & Mid Carpal Instability (MCI)/Palmar Midcarpal Instability (PMCI) also known as:

Ulnar Midcarpal Instability,
CLIP-Wrist,
Wrist Instability,
Capitolunate Instability Patterns,
Capito Lunate Instability Pattern,
Ulnocarpal Instability,
Midcarpal Instability,
Mid Carpal Instability (MCI),
Palmar Midcarpal Instability (PMCI),
Wrist Pain,
Carpal Instability,
Inter-Carpal Instability,
Capitolunate Scaphoid Instability,
Wrist Sprain,

You could also be suffering from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) another Repetitive Strain Injury Family member or you could be suffering from: Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy\Complex Regional Pain Syndrome 1&2 (RSD/CRPS 1&2) Or any other form of hand/wrist Repetitive Strain Injury Family member.

Scott :)
