I'm seeking infromation/links for shin splints and related lower limb injuries in the shin region of a muscular nature. I have visited many sites and am aware of treatments etc. but am seeking information regarding stretching, prevention/prolonged management and strapping techniques. Any information regarding this matter is much appreciated.
Cheers,

I've found that Icing directly after training and the game or exercise will help and then followed by gentle 5 min Calf Stretches, the calf stretches shold be done as often as possible during the day to maintain muscle looseness, if that doesn't work then the only other management technique i know of is to stop doing the things that are giving the person shin splints, I know of no strapping that will help releive shin splints

I actually have shin splints and I was wondering about some of my options. My shin area gets really tight and a bit inflamed as well as i have a few small lumps that come up on the outside of my leg. Does anyone know if this is a specific type of shin splints and what i could possibly do about it.
Today i played touch footy when it was wet, and i thought it would be better because the ground would be softer, but it didnt really make any difference. Thanks for any help.

If it's on the outside it may be a lateral compartment syndrome
