 hello-
yesterday, i fell very hard on my dominant shoulder and suffered a stage 3 shoulder separation. I have never really been injured severly. I have always been very active over the years have taken many falls and have walked away. This time not so lucky. I play alot of sports and its killing me to think ill never be able to play again them as well. the doc has said i should heal fine with conservative ways...i am starting PT in a week. 3 times a week for 4 weeks. I would say im pretty muscular so i would assume that will help. I was wondeing if anyone thinks i should get a second opinion from another doc? being active is very important to me...i dont care about the bump its not even that big actually....i just wanna ball again u know what im sayin?? so anyone who could post their experience...through recovery and getting back into sports or whatever pleases you...would be greatly appreciated. thanks alot everybody and happy healing to all of us injured peeps.

I think that you should go and get a second opinion. I didn't go to a sports doctor who specialised in shoulders and so now I'm going back to square one to get a second opinion with a shoulder specialist.

I would be careful with the PT and just make sure the inflammation has gone down and avoid doing any weight bearing activities for at least 4- 6 weeks.

I'm seeing Seamus Dalton next week about my shoulder in Sydney who is supposed to be the doctor to see about shoulder injuries.
