Hi there,

I'm about to have a capsular shift on my right shoulder. Had the other one done a couple of years ago and is really good now. My surgeon said the rehab is about 6 months but can take a bit longer, it really depends on the individual.

I'd mention your concerns to your physio and specialist. They should be able to point you in the right direction. It sounds like you don't have the full strength yet.

My shoulder surgeon said that if there isn't adequate rehab that's when there can be problems.

Good luck with it all.

Quick question...

what should your shoulder feel like when you start rehab.

I'm still in the sling (3-4 weeks post op) and am doing the couple of passive rotations physio gave me just to keep things from freezing up until the sling comes off. No drama there but I can feel things moving inside with the internal rotation which I'm assuming is normal as muscles have gone floppy and is just very early days post op. No pain just a bit weird and off-putting feeling inside ATM. Will ask physio too.

What are others experiences with rehab. BTW supraspinatus repair and biceps tenodesis were the order of the day.
