Okay I fell onto my left arm and heard a pop, now I have pains in the top of my shoulder, but it's only when I move it certain ways. Can this be a dislocation? Or a is it jammed?

You may have torn your AC joint. The clavicle or collarbone meets the shoulder at the acromion where a small joint is found.

I tore mine along with my rotator cuff a few years ago. I would recommend you goto your doctor and get a scan to confirm what you have injured.

or you can take the easy option which is just to leave it (aka conservative treatment).

I would first ice it to reduce the inflammation and use some voltarin or you can get a herbal remedy called arnica cream to help increase the circulation. Rest the arm as much as possible (will be easier if you aren't left handed) and do not lift anything heavy. Sometimes these things can heal if you give it time and rest.

If you are concerned about it, then go and see a sports physician or a physio who spe******es in shoulders first.

Well I finally went to the doctor and youre right, I just sprained it. All the x-rays came back negative for broken bones and serious damage, but I did beat up the muscles pretty good. I appriciate all the help. this was a scary ordeal.

Now if they would give me something other than a genaric Motrin and something for the pain I would be a little happier.

You are very lucky. I had a fall on my left shoulder and dislocated it. Ended up having surgery on it.
