There's only one thing worse than sitting on the bottom of the table, and that's having to do it without your best team on the park. The Vic's will be desperate to see if skipper Cameron White and their leading quicks will be fit for the Pura Cup match against WA Dec. 1.

Harvs & Harwood to return

Ian Harvey is likely to make a most welcome return to Victoria's line-up for Wednesday's game against the Western Warriors at the Junction Oval. Shane Harwood should be back, too.

Harvey ( pictured right ) has recovered from a groin complaint, suffered late in the match against Tasmania a fortnight ago. He played club cricket at the weekend, scoring 63 for his team, Northcote.

While not fit enough to play against NSW this week, he had several fitness sessions during the game and will be returned to the squad.

Andrew McDonald has been ruled out with injury: yet another early-season casualty for the Bushrangers, currently on the bottom of the ladder.

Fast bowler Mick Lewis is almost certain to miss again, with a groin strain.

There may be a further change with State and Hawthorn-Monash University wicketkeeper Peter Roach ( left ) unable to keep wickets at the weekend, with a thumb injury. He tore a ligament in his thumb in the warm-up before the match against Melbourne at the Albert Ground.

He and captain Cameron White (foot injury) who didn't play at all for Dandenong, will have to prove their fitness for the WA game on Monday and Tuesday.

Better news was the good form of fast bowler Harwood who took a "bag" in his return to club cricket after a recent sidelining with a side muscle complaint.

Bushrangers' coach Greg Shipperd said the team may currently be last with just six points, but at the same time last year they had just eight points ad went on to win the title comprehensively.

"We're not far off the pace, so there's no need to panic. We're addressing all the positive things to emerge from the NSW game and looking forward now to the Warriors."
