hey ,

about a month ago, I pulled my hamstring (for the 2nd time) this time I decided to go see someone.. went once a week for about 4 weeks.. made a pretty good recovery, iced, stretched it, started low impact at the gym cycling etc... then last week decided to go do some running , went down to the local park, mon night ran around did some sprints, a couple of laps.. kicked the rugby ball around - felt great.. next day no worries.. same again tues night - went a bit harder..( prob a bit to hard out) hamstring is fine, but woke up wed morning last week, with pain in my tendon, sinew thing its on both sides of the back of the knee (not sure what its called) im really frustrated as it now hurts to walk a bit, then other times its like I have no pain at all.. I dont know what to do.. has this happened to anyone? Is it a common injury?? any ideas on what treatment to do from here?? would really like to get this sorted.. im only 28 but feel like I need to hang up my boots to stop any permanent damage..:(

Well the Biceps Femoris attaches to the tendon you are describing, and if you pulled your biceps femoris muscle (1 of the 3 Hamstring muscles) then this could be the reason for the pain. As to why this happends I am unsure, I pulled my left hamstring however have the pain you are describing is on the right leg. You might have more severe pain as mine only limits me when bending the knee to stretch my glutes.
