Hello,

About two years ago, at a time when I was doing a lot of swimming (breast stroke) and weight training (including heavy dead-lifts), I started to get pain in my left trapesius muscle and down towards my scapula. In addition, looking in a mirror I can see that my left shoulder is higher than my right shoulder. By feeling the left trapesius, I can feel a painful, rubbery-type mass deep in the muscle and there is a clicking sensation if the muscle in manipulated as if there is some kind of dislocation. The injury has become chronic (2+ years) and could have been caused by too much breaststroke, doing deadlifts, or maybe just long-yerm bad posture while sitting at a computer for hours every day...??? In addition, there is now occasional pain in one or two of the left ribs coming around from the same left scapula area right around my ribcage into the left upper abdomen. Could a scapula or trapesius injury have put a rib out of place and putting pressure on an intercostal nerve...??? Please help...!!!

See a professional. Get an x-ray to exclude a bony abnormality. It could be any of the things you mentioned. It's already chronic so you need to break this cycle NOW. Good luck

I agree, it's important to go and see a sports doc who specialises in shoulders to see what has happened. Plus u need to take a break from things and u have to be careful because when u have injured your shoulder, some muscles work extra hard to compensate and u need to break that cycle.
