My son plays Rugby and three weeks ago had a head clash that left him with a deep split under his eyebrow that required 6 stiitches. The wound has healed very well and the stitches have been removed but we want to protect it in some way to avoid it splitting again as he has several important games coming up in a few days time. He wears head gear but that doesn't cover his eyebrow area. I've heard that smearing Vaseline over the cut may help or perhaps we should place a pad over the now closed cut and then a bandage or bandaid over that. Maybe nothing at all is required as it's been three weeks ? Does anyone have any advice ?
