I'm looking at arthroscopic surgery to see if and how my supraspinatus tendons (yes both sides  ) can be repaired.
As i am a very active individual struggling to come to terms with my sudden lack of use of my arms, i would like to hear of peoples (both treating and treated) experiences in rehabilitating after a supraspinatus injury.
Cheers.

If you are young and really have full thickness supraspinatus tears and you want to use your arms above shoulder height, then surgery is a good idea.
Cortisone is only good for very small tears and/or for older people with larger tears who don't want to play tennis anymore or lift stuff.
Make sure you see a shoulder specialist, and you should do OK.

I have been seeing respected sports specialists and have an appointment with a surgeon who is meant to be the bees knees at shoulders.
When you say i should do OK, what do you mean? My Doctor has been all doom and gloom, however this may have been a tactic of his to 'scare' me into behaving and not using my shoulders.
Thank you for the intial reply.
