This isn't orthopaedics or sports medicine, but it is a very interesting case which one day may have relevance for orthopaedics:

In summary, two cardiothoracic surgeons in Adelaide were fined $110,000 for trying to stop hospitals giving younger surgeons operating rights at the hospitals they worked out because the younger surgeons were not as experienced.
Don't tell me this couldn't happen in orthopaedics!
