it's been 2 weeks i am on trasylol and eccentric exercises for my patellar tendon and no results yet.

i do 2ml every other day around tendon and sometimes a little inside.i don't see any difference.

i also do eccentrics in leg prees machine with injured leg eccentric and the other concentric.

should i wait more or should i change the therapy?

should i try depo medrol?

i don't see any benefit.it hurts like the begining.

Be careful with using a lot of Trasylol as you can develop allergy to it from repeated exposure.

Keep up the eccentric strengthening as long as it is not aggravating you. Do it on a decline board it and it will increase the load.

Try to do lots of calf strengthening and gluteal strengthening + hamstring stretch and strengthen. You should be able to do 10 x calf raises on one leg and balance body weight.

Using cortisone for patella tendon would depend on your sport and the state of your tendon. If you are a 20 yo elite basketball player I would avoid cortisone (except maybe to get you through a Grand Final) due to risk of weakening and rupture.

If you are 60 and getting pain on sitting watching the football on TV, then get a cortisone into you and have another beer to relax a bit more.

i am 25 and do weightlifting.i do 20.000IU TRASYLOL every other day because in the study for patellar tendonitis Italians were injecting another aprotinin drug called Kir,Lepetit i believe that was 62.500IU(2.5mL)every week(more IU per mL compared to Trasylol).so i am close to this number with 3 injections per week(60.000IU).by the way i don't find any info about any drug called "Kir".do you know it?

for how long should i continue with this drug?no allergy yet:)

is it possible if aprotinin won't work,to have results on depo medrol?i ask this because the excellent and good results were less in depo medrol group.

Depomedrol is a type of cortisone, so it will have the other advantages and disadvantages of cortisone.

Nitrate patches and shock wave are other alternate treatments.

More info on Aprotinin just available on the site:

From this paper, be careful of allergies if you are using a lot of Aprotinin (i.e. have someone with adrenaline ready in case you get an allergic reaction).
