Hi everyone. I'm booked in to have a discectomy and decompression of my S1 nerve root and have been filling in my hospital admission forms. I got to a question about having had cortisone in the past twelve months (which I had as a one off injection in my wrist). Whilst I ticked yes I wondered whether this was going to have an adverse effect on my surgery. The reason that I am asking is that my mum had an injection into her hip and was told that she would not be able to have a hip replacement operation for at least 9-12 moths after having the injection. I'm now concerned about the injection and was hoping that one of the experts here could ease my concerns.
