hello all. i am new to this site; as i have come here seeking advice on how to heal and cure the hardest obstacle i have ever faced in my life(sad, yes i know).
i am 16, and i tore/pulled(idk) my left latissimus dorsi muscle deadlifting one day ~4 months ago. after i pulled it, i lifted again, not knowing that i was really injured bad.
it was then i realized i was in big trouble.
i waited 2 weeks, only doing squats(which probably aggrivated it more...bad move i know)
then i started lifting lightly again for my back, trying to ease into things again. i probably hurt it more here too and tore a lower trapezius musle during this time.
after a week of no solice, i finally saw my local doctor. he said it was a muscle strain and i should wait 6-8 weeks with no weight training at least because back muscles heal very slow.
i havent lifted since.
its been around 2-3 months...more since then. i still cannot engage in any weight trianing, or apparently even sports because today i played soccer and my left lat is sore. i feel any high impact activity is detrimental. i have been doing light swimming, trying to help healing.
needless to say, life has been very hard for me; i know it is all my fault, but please understand that i was naive and ignorant with no experiance with injuries.

all i ask is your advice on what i should do.
should i ice it? should i heat it?
why is it taking so long to heal?
am i going to die?

Have you seen anyone??
If you are based in Sydney I would go and see my physio (check them out at ssop.com.au)

Good news is you are young and given the right management you should do well

Good luck
