i have recently been diagnosed with a disc protusion C6/7.I have severe pain at location plus shoulder pain and tingling in pinky finger. I had to leave work and also unable to do any domestic work. I have an appointment with Dr Rayond Cook at St Leonards does anybody know of him? Also are there any other alternative proceedures i could try?

you need to improve the blood and nerve supply to muscles to help strengthen weakened muscles. Exercises for neck pain will fail to help if the blood or nerve supply is compromised. If the joints are tight, if muscles are in spasm, inflammation in the neck is common. Removing inflammation with medication is okay for temporary relief only. If chronic look more to using natural pain relief products.

Please don't follow any suggestions only doctor's advice. First you consult doctor and follow meds regularly. If no change then try for suggestions. Take care.

Sorry to hear about the cervical disc protusion... Which shoulder is it that's affected by the referred pain? Is there a history of any previous cervical or whip lash injuries?
