i have recently been told that i have an enthesopathy at the upper end of my hamstring. what is the best non-invasive treatment for this as it has been suggested that i may require steriod injections into the tendon if the problem does not resolve - i'd like to avoid this if possible? Also, is this a common injury and why it causing sciatic like pain in my leg when i'm driving for more than 20 mins? a disc bulge has already been ruled out by my physio and my slump test is fine. just want to make sure i'm getting the best treatment cos i've had problems with my hamstring for 9 months.

you could try good conservative rehab (the physios at ssop.com.au are really good) focussing on eccentric strength programmes or if you are in sydney talk to Dr John Orchard about aprotinin injections (not cortisone)

hope this helps
